Dear Linda:

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding bipartisanship in Congress.

As you know, prior to the President's State of the Union Address, Senator Mark Udall (D-CO) circulated a letter to Members of Congress encouraging them to sit with a Member from the opposing Party to encourage bipartisanship. While I will never compromise my principles or the needs of the 24th District for the sake of "bipartisanship," I do believe that there is a strong need for the two parties to work together in the 112th Congress to help create private sector jobs and improve the economy.

It is no secret that there is a lot of work to be done here in Washington and it is crucial that all 535 Members of Congress work together to get this great nation back on the path to prosperity.

Thank you again for contacting me; it is a privilege and a pleasure to serve you. Should you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact my office. For more information, or to stay informed on important issues, I encourage you to sign up for my electronic newsletter at http://adams.house.gov.

Sincerely,
