Scott Ellis

Most of you know that Scott Ellis is the former -- and hopefully soon-to-be-again -- Brevard County Clerk of Courts. He has been a bastion of careful expenditures for the taxpayers of Brevard County and it is he who has done so much in the past to prevent the Brevard County Commissioners from getting away with "tax and spend" practices (I would say "Scott free", but that would be too bad!).

A paraphrased bio from Ellis's 2012 campaign website tells us that Scott was born in West Virginia, moved to Brevard County as a child and graduated Eau Gallie High School in 1976. He entered the U.S. Air Force soon thereafter and was honorably discharged in 1980. He "enrolled at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. [He] graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science" then got a "Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1985", also from UCF. He served on the Brevard County Commission, elected in 1992 and was elected Clerk of Court in 2000, voluntarilly leaving for health reasons in 2010. He is running again this year (2012).
