Sept. 16, 2009 In order to make the front page a bit shorter, I have decided to make a "Page Deux" (Page Two). This is where the older links and postings I used to have on the front page will go. It's going to make the front page shorter, but it will still enable you to find the links and stories that you really want to share. I'll try to leave the current info on the front page, but everything that is older than a month will go here, and then it will go (when I get to it) to a page that has almost strictly the links with minimal comment by moi (some people will love that).
May 2010 Blurbs May 31, 2010; 2:27 p.m.   It's Memorial Day and I wrote a poem to honor our Vets. It's kind of sad (and I think that's appropriate for the day), but I think its message is correct. I'll get started now. May 29, 2010   U.S. Supreme Court nominee, Kagan, allegedly has money ties to Bin Laden. (You have to read this link.) You remember him? The guy who is responsible for 9/11? Yeah. We want her on the U.S. Supreme Court, don't we? Can you imagine her ruling on whether Gitmo detainees have certain rights usually reserved for Citizens of the United States? Wouldn't she have to recuse herself on that? She should have to; but would she? Now remember who nominated her: obamination. The gall it takes to nominate a person with ties to Osama Bin Laden, 9/11 mastermind, the person who is responsible for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (if it weren't for the 9/11 attacks, the U.S.S. Cole attack, the attacks on the military barracks and embassies abroad), we would not be at war with Islamic terrorists; with Bin Laden. Yet, obamination, in all his idiotic glory, decides to slap America in the face and nominate someone for the U.S. Supreme Court -- at this time in our history -- with ties to Osama Bin Laden. What does that say about obamination's regard for the people of America? May 29, 2010   Speaking of obamination's regard (actually, lack thereof) for the American people, how about that Calderon, El Presidente of Mexico? While here, he slammed AZ for its decision to enable law enforcement to follow Federal law, and obamination allowed him to do so without correction or negative comment. Now the Feds are supposedly worried about terrorists crossing into America via Mexico. This has been a story for a very long time, but obamination's administration doesn't care. It's not as if they're worried about Americans and our security. After all, what's another dead American to them? May 29, 2010   Big promises or big lies? I think the latter. May 29, 2010   Ex-ACORN worker, Anita MonCrief, labels obamination's ACORN a socialist "domestic threat". Notice the last paragraph: "Obama has shown himself to be unrelenting in his quest to pass healthcare, take over American industries and weaken our national security. America can’t afford to be fooled by increasingly obvious tactics of the Far Left. It’s time for the great majority of Americans to turn the tables back on the Far Left by getting involved and organized and voting out incumbents who vote against the traditional American way. We need a morning in America, but it’s always darkest before the dawn."She's absolutely correct. Wake up, America! May 29, 2010   People are planning to boycott AZ over their illegal immigration law. I say that those of us who want to defend our borders, our rights as citizens, our wallets, and agree with the AZ law should find out who is organizing the boycotts of AZ (think SEIU, ACORN, all the progressive groups out there, etc.) and find a way to financially impact them via boycotts. If you are a union member, drop out of the union. If you belong to the ACORN groups (although no longer called ACORN) drop out of those. Oh. Sorry. What was I thinking? You support the illegals coming here because they support you. Ooopsie. I forgot. So if you don't belong to those kinds of groups, attend a rally that supports the AZ law. Outnumber them big time and make it obvious that the "law and order" side is overwhelmingly represented. As the story says, "bUycott" Arizona, and I agree. I've never been there, but hope to go ASAP. May 29, 2010   We all know by now of the impeachable practices of obamination in offering Sestak a position of some sort in exchange for Sestak dropping out of the race against now-defunct, Arlen Specter. We also know by now that obamination is not going to be held accountable. Of course, his shield in this is Bill Clintoon [sic] because Clintoon [sic] is not in the administration and obamination's Attorney General, Eric "I see nothing!" Holder, says that obamination did nothing wrong. Trying to bribe someone to drop out of a campaign breaks all kinds of laws, but obamination did nothing wrong. Yes, yes. We know this tune. Clintoon [sic] played it for eight years and he has taught it to the new kid (and he's as much of an inexperienced kid as ever has been) in town. So is anyone surprised? Read the Michelle Malkin piece and you'll find more info there. Some people think all of obamination's assertions stink, and others are saying Clintoon [sic] blew it. The obamination administration is to blame, but whoever gets stuck with the blame -- this administration or Clintoon [sic] -- it is apparent to me that "Dumb and Dumber" are not a good combination when trying to hide illegal activity! May 29, 2010   There's an "author" who rented a house in Alaska, right next to Sarah Palin and her family in order to do a "hit piece" book on Palin. Renting the house next door is a bit of an intimidation factor, IMHO, and it's not really in the list of good and acceptable practices for authors who wish to learn more about their book's subject. Make an appointment to interview them, yes. Be nice and friendly about things, yes. But to rent the house and move in next door? That's taking it a bit too far. It's a bit like a "To Do" list, but when I get them finished, I say, "TahDah!" Makes me feel like I've accomplished something besides hitting progressives over the head with their own lies and stupidity. So, I've been a bit busy. Wednesday I went through about seven hours of miscellaneous "Spring Cleaning" tasks. Wasn't fun. Also gave my sons hair cuts. I've been cutting their hair their whole lives; Keith's since about 1987. That saved us a bunch of money. It's fun, too. You should see some of the fun things I get to do with their hair before I get serious and give them the correct cut. I've taken pics of a few things I've done, but my sons won't let them be published. Which is fine. Sometimes we need to have a few things just to the family. Especially goofy things like that! Went out to dinner and a movie with a dear friend of mine last night. We've been doing so almost every other week for the last few months. It's fun and I enjoy her company because she is someone with whom I can have a good conversation. Went to the "Moonlight Drive-In" in Titusville. I had never been there before so it was a new thing for me. I liked the sandwich I had (fried chicken breast fillets with tomato, lettuce and pickles), and the ice cream (dessert, not with the sandwich: I'm not pregnant). I also liked the prices and the building. I will go back. I am not big on going to the movies, but so far we have seen "How to Train Your Dragon" (my favorite of the movies we've seen: unexpectedly cute); "Letters to Juliet" (predictable and tepid); and last night's "Shrek 4" (Ugh). So my online time lately has been a bit slow. Later tonight I will try to get some updates done, but I can't guarantee. I plan to do a painting this evening and maybe read and maybe even write some on one of my books (I'm writing six). We'll see what the evening brings. But I will try to have at least some new blurbs up for you before you wake up in the morning. After all, I went to bed this morning at seven, got up at eleven (with two interruptions) and I'm not really functioning at full capacity today. Tired and a bit preoccupied with other things (one of my husband's co-workers died today: our thoughts and prayers are with the family), so I won't promise, but I will try. May 25, 2010; 6:00 p.m.   I don't see the Glenn Beck show during its 5:00 p.m. showing very often because I'm usually updating my website. On May 23, 2010, I said this: "May 23, 2010   I don't understand all of the ins and outs of the ShoreBank Bailout but I bet it's bad news for the American taxpayer one way or the other. Notice that it says that the company website features, "a video of Obama in Kenya championing ShoreBank microlending projects overseas."? I think that's very telling. Don't you wonder how he's benefitting from this thing, and allowing his friends at ShoreBank to benefit as well? Follow the money."Then I left my office and saw a repeat that I had missed seeing the original showing of the May 20, 2010 Glenn Beck show. I only saw the last twenty minutes of the repeat showing. When I posted my blurb, I didn't know Glenn Beck had covered ShoreBank on May 20th because I missed that show, but caught the repeat. So that leads me to the May 20, 2010 Glenn Beck show transcript about ShoreBank. He covered it again yesterday while I was in my office updating my website. He spoke more about ShoreBank. So my prediction about obamination and his friends benefiting was correct. Follow the money always works. Especially when it comes to progressives and their wormy ways. May 25, 2010; 3:42 p.m.   In a very sad development, it was reported today that Rifqa Bary, the Muslim who converted to Christianity, has cancer. She has a very aggressive type of uterine cancer and the treatment her parents have chosen to give her only gives her a 5% chance of survival. Could other choices have upped Rifqa's chances of survival? If so, and the parents' choice leads to Rifqa's death, they should be charged with murder. Pray for Rifqa's healing. May 25, 2010   obamination's "Health Care Enslavement Act of 2010" takes away your choice on everything. Read the entire obamination administration document here. Know what? You won't have the ability to object to them demanding that you buy condoms if this goes through; even if you're eighty-nine and don't have sex any more. You'll be forced to buy a specific brand of toothpaste if this goes through, even if you don't have teeth! You'll be forced to buy a specific kind of car if this goes through: even if you prefer to ride your motorcycle. All because the Feds think that the Commerce Clause allows them to tell you how to spend your money because you spending your money is "commerce". Isn't that special? They care so much about you, they want to regulate you into which kind of underwear you can buy. Sweet! The fed'ral guvment lubs me so much! (Sarcasm.) I don't trust him further than I could throw him, but just as a giggle, I would LOVE to see him try to cut down a forst of redwoods with a craft knife. That would something to see! May 25, 2010 12:41 a.m.   Quick note: On May 15, 2010, I wrote a blurb about doing a search for "Obama" and "failure" and then one with "George Bush" and "Failure". For "Obama" and "failure", I received 32,500,000 results. For the "George Bush" and "Failure" search, I got 5,780,000 results. Another search of the same thing tonight says, 28,700,000 for "Obama"; George Bush got 5,620,000. (I think there's something funky going on with the search engines unless a whole lot of pages went down on both of those results. But that's another story.) What I wanted to blurb about here is this little reminder: There were two "George Bush" Presidents, so that five million number has to be divided between the two of them. The government now wants to take your money and use your money to bail out unions. I'm sorry. I don't see anywhere in the U.S. Constitution where it mentions unions nor bailing them out. Does anyone see that anywhere in the U.S. Constitution? No? Now how about teachers and schools? Anyone see teachers or schools mentioned in the U.S. Constitution? Read it. The answer is "No." The closest thing it mentions is, "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;"Do you know what that is? That's patents and copyrights. There is no school nor teacher mentioned in the United States Constitution. The only college mentioned is the Electoral College in Amendment 12. Therefore, the U.S. government, according to the U.S. Constitution, has no right to be involved in education! NONE! Stick that in your pipes and smoke it for a while. May 24, 2010   I am against illegal immigration and this story just gives me another reason to be so. Legal immigration (enter our country properly, get the paperwork done properly, wait your turn, etc.), I have no problem with. But when you come here and say, "I deserve...", or, "I demand...", or, "I will kill..." that is wrong. Every illegal immigrant who comes over here should be thankful they have made it and that they haven't been deported yet. (Yet.) They should be glad that they are here, where they wanted to be, and that they have such an easy mark as America to take advantage of. But, no. They demand, they protest, they celebrate Cinco De Mayo (got a funny e-mail about that, but I won't share it here) -- a made up holiday (akin to Kwanza) and they burn our flag while telling us we can't wear it on any day we choose. They break our laws (just crossing the border illegally is bad enough) continually, then if they kill someone, they expect to be treated differently. Now that's an ungrateful mob of gangsters who don't deserve to be anywhere, but especially not here where they're taking advantage of our laws and of our health care system and making us pay for everything they want and complaining about it anyways. It's going to be tougher to stay here, though, with seventeen more states planning similar laws. Good. It's about time. May 24, 2010   World's economy in precarious position. Hold on, folks. It's going to be a bumpy ride. Get out of debt now (or yesterday would have been better), commit to putting money away in savings of some sort (some are using gold, others are going for other investments, I will not advise except to say save something!), and try to teach your children that they can't have everything they want (difficult, I know). Start today. It's getting scary out there. May 24, 2010   Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee disalow law to block Gitmo transfers into America. So Dems. want terrorists on American soil? Okay. Let the detainees stay at the Dems' houses. Under guard and handcuffed, of course. Well, if they want them here that badly, they should be willing to put their actions where their words are! Let's not forget that they have to be provided with health care, privacy, prayer rooms, mats, Korans/Qurans, proper food for Muslims to eat, cigarettes to smoke if they choose to smoke (inside, of course: they're detainees!), and a few other essentials. So, we'll start with Andrews and go alphabetically from there. That's fair. Every Dem. on that Committee gets to host at least one (although some may have to double up, or triple up) Gitmo detainee at their own expense, of course! After all, they're all for bringing them here. Put your money where your mouths are, Dems! May 24, 2010   obamination may be impeachable due to his offer of a bribe. Many, many results on that search and I find it credible. I'm not saying obamination actually did it, I'm just saying that I believe he's capable of doing so. I think he's that unscrupulous. Does anyone remember his denials about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Anyone remember his involvement? I do. I think that this is the same ol' Democratic song played over and over and over again to accomplish the same thing over and over and over again: take from those who work for it and give to those who don't. May 24, 2010   The Feds are fighting gun laws in Montana. The Fed's argument is, "Because an illicit market for firearms exists nationwide, a 'gaping hole' in federal firearm regulation would persist if firearms made and sold in Montana were exempted from compliance." The problem grew when six states enacted similar laws; and twenty-two others are considering doing so as well (including Florida!). Sounds like a good plan to me. Keep your hands off of the guns of every law abiding citizen. Only criminals need to worry about government intrusion into their gun rights. At least, that's the way it should be, according to the Second Amendment. May 24, 2010 3:46 p.m.   Spent some time today updating the links on my rupester pages from her D1 BOCC campaign days. If they're going to be useful to everyone, they needed to be updated. I wish the Supervisor of Elections office didn't change their base address every time someone new comes in, or with whatever server changes they make. Things like that make it more difficult to keep pages up to date. But, I am willing to do the work. Now all I have to do is get to the other pages (I did the first three so far) and then they will be mostly up to date. Some of the links were changed to new addresses and I couldn't find those pages. I will keep trying, but right now I have on three pages, I believe it's three links that no longer go where they are supposed to go. It's frustrating, but worth it. Therefore, putting my own action where my mouth is, I have put together a list of twenty suggestions of things for Tea Party members to be proactive in. This is a suggestion list: I am not saying that every Tea Party member should do everything on the list. There is one item on the list, though, that every Tea Party member (and every American) should do, and that is the last item on the list. I hope that there will be some things happening here that are from my list. I hope that this list gives some people the idea that, yes, they can do something themselves without waiting for the leaders of the party to do the scheduling and to get things coordinated, and they can make a difference within their own community. They can and will if they try. I support Tea Party ideals and causes. I have been critical of their rallies because that is all I have seen done by the Tea Party. Action is what is needed and these suggestions for actions are some of the possibilities. If this list of twenty actions makes them think of other things they can do to be proactive in changing Brevard County, then Florida, then the U.S.A. back into what it is supposed to be -- "of the People, by the people, for the people" -- then that is excellent and I hope they will go for it! Stand up. Do something proactive. Call on your fellow Tea Party people to do the same. Going to a rally then going home and sitting on your butt and on your hands accomplishes nothing. Do something. This list is a good start. Choose at least two items -- one if you're elderly and infirmed -- and do that thing. Even if it's just the last item, do it! He was our taxpayer advocate. He was our champion. He was our "Sir Galahad" and we shall miss him. If there was a penny in the bank, the others would vote to spend ten of them. Now without Scott there has to be a taxpayer presence -- a huge taxpayer presence at every BOCC meeting in order to stave off the spending, spending, spending the others vote in favor of. I think that's a good thing for Tea Party members to get their teeth into. They should go to every BOCC meeting and stand up and speak against every spending item on the agenda -- or snuck into it -- and make sure they have no fewer than forty or fifty Tea Party members there every time. That would probably outweigh the progressive presence in the room and maybe the Taxed Enough Already crowd would be able to be heard over the whining of the progressives' pouts. Problem is they'll be punishing the internet service providers who have my website hosted if they don't have another website supporting obamination in an equal and equally viewed manner. Try regulating how many hits a website gets per year/month/week/day/hour and that's what "Net Neutrality" would be. If my site gets 1,000 hits a day, the site supporting obamination would have to equally receive 1,000 hits a day. Well, they could put the SEIU up to it and pay their people to do so; maybe make it look like he's still popular. Problem is, there's nothing out there to guarantee that will happen: not even pay. A federal appeals court ruled that their last "Net Neutrality" effort was unconstitutional. So the obamination administration is going about it in another way. In Orlando for the weekend, the souls of my feet somehow became swollen and bruised. I wore comfy shoes that I have worn for longer periods of time than that day, but somehow my feet Saturday afternoon were so sore and swollen that I asked to go back to the hotel room and I sat on the bed with my feet up until time to get ready for the "Straight No Chaser" concert at the Hard Rock. "Straight No Chaser" was excellent and perfect and did two encores for us. Then they signed their CDs for us. It was great fun, but I sat through most of the concert with my shoes (different shoes; more padding) off. After the concert and CD signing, the walk back to the van was so painful that when we got to the parking garage level where we parked, I took my shoes off and walked across the parking garage in my stockinged feet. Anyone who knows me well knows that I don't even walk around the house barefooted, so that's saying something! Today is the first day since Saturday that I am not limping -- on both feet! Bill 2499 is a bill asking if Puerto Rico wants to be a part of the United States (keyword) of America: do they want to become a state? Or do they want to stay a protectorate, or have some other form of relationship with America? In the past, they have actually voted the statehood option down every time it has been offered. This bill, however, changes the rules regarding this whole process. It will cost us money. It could give Dems. an automatic voter base in the "new state", and it would definitely be a problem for Puerto Rico as well, according to Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a senior Democrat Congressman, who posted on the liberal's fav, The Huffington [and Puffington] Post: "I am a senior Democratic Member of Congress, whose parents were born in Puerto Rico, and for whom Puerto Rico self-determination has been – and remains – a central issue of my congressional career. They protest here even though in Mexico, their immigration laws are more like a police state. If Hispanics -- illegal Hispanics -- want to protest something, why don't they protest the drug lords who make their lives in Mexico unbearable and use them as mules as they cross the border? Why don't they protest the corruption within the Mexican government that turns a blind eye to the drug lords and takes payoffs? If they wish to protest why don't they go back to their own country and protest the bad things going on there and make the effort to make something good of their own country? Instead of coming here illegally, why don't they fight to be able to make their own way and to make their children's lives better in their own country instead of coming here and demanding we hand it to them on a silver platter? The answer lies not within the U.S. government, but within themselves. If they had the gumption to fight for their own country, to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and to make life better in Mexico then they would have something to be proud of. They would have an accomplishment they could have great-grandchildren proud of. Yet, they choose to come here illegally, take our money out of our pockets and force us to pay for their food, their housing, their medical treatments and their "anchor" babies. If they want to know why Americans are 70% in favor of the Arizona law, if they did not come here legally, they should look in the mirror and find out why. If they have a problem with Americans -- citizens of America -- doing what we must to protect the futures of our children, our posterity, then that's their problem. They can go home in the back of a deportation wagon and complain about it all the way. But they should not come here illegally and expect to be welcomed with open arms and to expect to be able to make our children's children's children pay for their everything. We cannot afford it and we do not wish to strap our grandchildren with the expenses we do not want to bear ourselves. We love our children and our now-or-future grandchildren, too. It's not exclusive to illegals crossing our borders to love their children. Why can't illegals understand that? What gives them the idea that it's okay for us to have to pay for their children as well as our own? That's the part that irritates me the most: they want us and our children and our grandchildren to be strapped with the bills they accrue. We get no benefit from it, yet we are forced to pay. Not fair, not right. Those illegals should go home and fight for their own country and stand up for their own future grandchildren, or do the immigration process the right way if they truly care about coming to America and making a future here. Otherwise, all they care about is themselves and their own convenience and laziness. For that is truly what it is. It is lazy to not wish to pay for yourself, to want others to foot your bill and to run away and not fight for the security and well-being of your own country so that your country will be a better place to raise your grandchildren in an environment in which you can trust their futures will be as bright as if they were here. We only watched "Hush Hush", but it was a fun day. Sunday hubby returned home and got sick. Very sick. I asked him twice if he wished to go to the hospital. I think he had some food poisoning at the fishing tournament, and he was miserable. He puked through the night and slept while he wasn't puking. Twenty-four hours later, he felt well enough to not be sleeping, but he missed a day of work due to his illness. Poor bucko. I hate to see him not feeling well. So, I've been away from the computer for a few days. Sorry. But some things just can't be helped. I use Bravenet right now and in everythng else, they are good. In their forums; bad. I hate all of the advertisements that I have to go through to read my forums and I know there are others who agree with me. I wish I could say I was successful at finding a new host but there is a cost for a new host. I read the legalese (Terms of Agreement, the thing that says what you agree to allow in order to use their forum program) before I sign up for something. I have to say I was surprised by how many of the forums programs available say basically that if you use their forums the hosting compay has all copyrights, all permissions to use anything posted on your forums -- in perpetuity -- either while you are posting on their forums, or immediately upon you closing your forums. It doesn't matter who posts it, when it was posted, or what was said. If it is on their forums, they have the right to take it and use it at will if you agree to use their program. Well, I have a problem with that. The problem being that I cannot -- in fairness to my posters -- give away anyone's copyright except my own. I don't like the idea of giving my copyright away, either (especially with my photos or art work), but to agree to give away someone else's copyright? That's not within my powers, nor is it in my heart. It's just not right. So, I have been searching high and low, near and far and have been trying to find a forums place I could use and not have to give away everyone's rights. If, for instance, a poster published a poem about freedom on my forum, their copyright would be gone forever to the company who was hosting that forum. That would not be fair to the writer of the poem because the company would be able to make money from the poem but the writer would not. Unfair. Totally unfair. I usually have disdain for most attorneys out there. (Notice I said "usually" and "most" because I know too many instances when attorneys turn out to be really bad people. For example: obamination, his wife, "Cigars" Clintoon [sic] and his wife are all attorneys. However, William Powell, Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin, are good attorneys.) But with this, some attorney should file a class action lawsuit against that sort of copyright theft. I'd participate in a heartbeat. How many forums posters are actually aware that most of them are giving away their copyright? Not many, I'd say. So the search continues. This way people will know which books I reference and they'll be able to get most of them with the ISBNs I provide. Not all of my books have ISBNs, though, because some of them are from before 1940 and some are just prior to the ISBN's start. So, I provide ISBNs whenever possible but if unavailable, I believe I give enough info for you to find the same book on Abebooks.com or (if you're lucky) at a local used book store. I will try to work on this pretty regularly to be able to get it all listed before June (yes, I have that many). I can't guarantee my time will be spent on that because I have so many other things to do and other interests and a family that I love to spend time with. So, I will work on it when I get the chance. Does that statement bring Brevard County Tax Collector, Lisa Cullen, to mind? It does for me. Speaking of the TCO, I did another records request and received the info the other day. I had asked when the $6.25 drivers' license fee came into effect: before August 2009, or after? She said before. My next question was, "Who gets the money?" Answer: the Brevard County Tax Collector's Office. So, according to Causey (who does the responding to my requests, not Cullen), the $6.25 was collected long before the August 18, 2009 letter from the Tax Collector (Cullen) to the employees stating that there would not be enough money in the budget to allow for any pay raises this year. So my question is, was, and has always been: Where did the $110,000+ come from to give DeeDee Causey a $15,000 annual raise and others raises as well, when the money was already figured into the budget that didn't have enough money to do raises? Who is that bad at math in the TCO that they said, "No raises", then gave out over $110,000 worth of raises? Where did the money come from? Back on Sept. 14, 2009, Cullen sent out a letter to all of her employees stating in part (fifth paragraph), "It is not the goal of this office to return the most money possible to the county as unused fees; the goal and duty is to resource this operation the most cost effective way possible to the benefit of all."When I consider that the taxpayers of Brevard County could be using those taxpayer dollars to help maintain roads, to pay staff outside of the TCO, to do whatever, it irks me that Cullen has this attitude. Do you get any benefit of DeeDee Causey's $15,000 raise? No? Nor do I. Let us not forget that in the August 18, 2009 letter Cullen tells the employees that there would be no money for raises, she also states, "I would like to end this letter on a positive note and announce that your next pay check August 28, 2009, I will begin providing an insurance supplement of $30.00 per month. This will replace the monthly $9.00 supplement that you receive now."At $21 more per month for 161 employees, that's $3,381 per month times twelve months: $40,572 annually Cullen spends above the previous amount on her employee's insurance rates. Too bad that's not Cullen's money; it's our money and Cullen refuses to give it back. Sounds to me as though Cullen is dead set on "resourc[ing] th[e] operation the most cost effective way possible to the benefit of" the TCO employees. At least some of them. March 2, 2010: 1.3 million GM compact cars recalled for a power steering issue. March 28, 2010: 5,000 heavy duty vans recalled due to fire risk. Compared to Toyota's 2,309,400, that's about half as many GMs being recalled during an equivalent time frame. But consider this story in which the NHTSA is investigating 6.2 million GM trucks for possible brake failure and those numbers switch places drastically. That puts GM having difficulties with 2.3 times as many GM vehicles as Toyota's vehicles. Does that tell you anything about this administration's targeting of Toyota? I said that Amendment 4 being sponsored by "Hometown Democracy" (I happen to disagree with that name, but that's another issue all together) would result in the whole state voting to approve a zoning change here in Brevard or anywhere else. I was wrong. It means that the local people would vote. It also means that your property rights would still be taken away and it would fundamentally change the way America thinks of property rights since the time of the Founding Fathers and their way of thinking of property rights. Quoting that page: "Charles Montesquieu, whose writings were recommended by major Framers such as James Madison, John Adams, and Alexander Hamilton, declared: 'Let us therefore lay down a certain maxim: that whenever the public good happens to be the matter in question, it is not for the advantage of the public to deprive an individual of his property – or even to retrench the least part of it by a law or a political regulation' [2]"Notice that last part: "by a law or a political regulation." That is what Amendment 4 would do to you. It would deprive you of your property rights by a law or a political regulation. When the reality is so much different from the assertion: "18 May 1968: An American attempt to launch the spacecraft Nimbus B-1 failed when the booster rocket had to be destroyed at an altitude of 18.5 miles (30 km). The satellite carried two radioisotope generators that fell into off [sic] the coast of California. The nuclear material was recovered intact from a depth of 330 ft (100 m) with no release of radioactivity."I've seen many, many rockets explode; some close, some far away and eighteen miles is far away. It would not have looked "like an atom bomb went off" at all. It's much too far away for it to have looked like that at the time. Even if the launch were at night, the flare of the explosion would not have been that bright. The Space Shuttle Challenger's 1986 disaster (God rest their souls) happened 8.71212121 miles up -- less than half the distance of the Nimbus -- and it didn't look "like an atom bomb went off". I read this after I commented on Dr. Michael Krupp's website forum about SB-6 setting new school standards in Florida. I said, "I support this bill because education is a cumulative event. If a kindergarten teacher does a good job, the first grade teacher has an easy road. If the first grade teacher does a good job, the second grade teacher has it easy; and so on. IF, on the other hand, the first grade teacher does a horrible job and the second grade teacher does not catch it and correct the situation, then it was a team effort to make sure that the student having difficulties was promoted to the next level without having the educational benefits of the first two full years of a good education.And I stand by it. I think that there has to be a high standard, not just a standard. If our students cannot read when they are entering the fourth grade, there's a problem with the teacher that student had in grades K-3. It's time to raise the standard. Include some Latin, some Greek, some real analysis of the story lines (not just the "PC-ness" of it), but demand an accountability for the student to understand why "To Kill A Mockingbird" was titled such and how that related to the story line. Why was "To be or not to be?" a significant line in Hamlet? What part did pride play in Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice"? All of that is important in literacy as well as critical thinking skills. I think that subject -- criticial thinking and logic -- is one of the most untaught subjects in America. Without it, our students are being cheated of a future that could be ten times brighter if they could utilize that talent and have the ability to recognize when someone is double speaking them, when someone is using rhetoric to snow them, when someone is being a progressive and trying to convince them that it's okay to change America into a progressive haven of power for the progressives and slavery for the rest of it. That is why critical thinking skills and logic are no longer taught: so that progressives don't have to worry about being confronted with the truth! I think that the Church needs to face the facts, kick out the pervs and subject them to full criminal prosecution no matter the consequences. They didn't care about the children who were being raped and tormented, scarred for life by these pervs in their midst, so why should the pervs get protection or consideration? I think it's time the Pope take a stand for what is right for the children, not for what will protect the perv. It states in Matthew 18:6, "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."Sounds to me as though the Catholic Church has a lot of priests, cardinals and others whose punishment is going to be worse than going into the sea with millstones; even the Pope if he doesn't get this pedophile problem solved and start protecting the children who are being subjected to victimization via the Church instead of being protected by the Church and taught that God loves them not for their bodies but for their souls! It is not just a Catholic Church problem. I understand that all too well. I have personal knowledge of that fact. However, I don't see any other denomination circling the wagons to protect someone found to be a pedophile pastor, reverend, Sunday School teacher -- whatever -- and protecting the perpetrator instead of helping the victim and preventing a similar victimization for other children. It is an abomination in the sight of God to hurt a child. It is an even bigger abomination in the sight of God to protect someone who does so and to allow the perpetrator to keep hurting children. If the Catholic Church wants to have any parishioners left at all, it needs to admit that the policy was to protect the priest (and thus the Church) and to move the priest to protect him and to turn blind eyes at the priest's sin so that the Church didn't have to deal with it. Now that the "fit is hitting the shan" (so to speak) in Europe as it did (and probably will again) in America, it's time for the Catholic Church to rent a spine, stand up and to turn over the names of any and all of their people (priests, lay people, bishops, cardinals, nuns, and anyone else) who have been hurting children and making impossible the Church's job of portraying God as a loving, caring Father who wants what is right and best for His children instead of a perv whose only joy in life is hurting children. The Catholic Church needs to get on its knees and repent, turn over names for full prosecution, change its practices and procedures to prevent children from being alone with adults besides their own parents and start changing its public face with its own members. I've heard something very similar to that somewhere else. Where was it? Hmmmmmmm... Oh, yes! It's the story of obamination all over again! He is using our own money to fund destroying America, too. The only difference is that the CAIR organization funds bombings that take out thousands at a time whereas obamination uses our taxpayer dollars to destroy America en masse in huge strokes of his pen with Marxist practices and ideas. Sounds to me as though they have a common goal, yes? April 3, 2010   Global warming likened to lemmings? Sounds right to me. Only lemmings believe in it. So if they all plunge off the strictly proverbial ledge together, where's the shock and surprise in that? Live the lie, push the lie, believe the lie: I suppose it's akin to "Live by the sword..." When you think about it, the global warming crowd is like lemmings. No proof, the lies have been exposed, but they keep believing, heading toward that proverbial cliff of their own belief and when they get to the edge of this round world and can't jump off, what will then happen to their fragile little psyches? Will they all go 'round the bend together leaving us with a mumbley-jumbley phalanx of global warmers to care for? Or will reality wake them up when they see that after sixty years of belief and they are on their death beds and nothing they believed in came true? Or, sadder still, will they be on their death beds still believing and still worrying about their grandnieces and grandnephews who will have a scorched earth to live on three years after they pass because they haven't done enough? What is sadder than a delusion? A delusion lived, breathed and worshipped until death even though proven wrong seven ways to Sunday. That's sad. April 3, 2010   I have a tendency to -- like Rush Limbaugh -- know progressives like the back of my hand (I'm not going to use Rush's phrase for that). I have a tendency to be able to predict what they are going to do. As when Amy Tidd, Maureen Rupe and others of their ilk threatened to sue me for stating the facts and having proof to back it up. They don't like the truth -- especially when it's about them! Anyone telling the truth about them has got to be silenced. That's the way it is with obamination's health care reform. The truth hurts them. That's why I like this article that reveals more of the truth about health care enslavement act and predicts the future of what it means to the future of America: and what our lives play in that future. I'm not even going to bother with the "Islam is a religion of peace" bit any longer. Why even be sarcastic about it? It's just not the truth and when the truth stares people in the face so blatantly and for so long, shouldn't people finally acknowledge it and move forward and deal with the truth? Makes life a lot easier to do so. April 3, 2010   I don't trust the obamination administration to be able to wipe noses properly, but maybe they did something with airport screening that is headed in the right direction. Notice that italicized "maybe". I don't trust this because far down in the story, it states, "the system instituted in January presented a severe inconvenience to travelers from the listed countries."Those "listed countries" are countries terrorists are known to originate from, to travel out of, or to be trained in. Wonderful. Make things easier for them. Just what obamination wants: destroy America one step at a time. April 3, 2010 3:58 a.m.   Did some work around the house and yard and some errands yesterday so I didn't make the time to update my website. I don't usually do yard work because I don't do too well in the heat. I have a history of passing out when I get overheated so air conditioning and I get along really well. Yesterday wasn't that hot, and I waited until after six in the evening to do any outside work, so I got most (hopefully all) of the dandelions plucked from our front and side yards and I hope to be able to do some other weeds today. Problem is, if we don't have weeds, what would be green in our yard? We have some grass: a little. But it's mostly spotty and patchy and irritating because it seems no matter what we do to it -- fertilize, weed, weed killer, fertilize more, seed it, etc. -- the grass dies faster than I eat chocolate and it seems such a waste of time. We keep trying; it just doesn't seem to do any good. Weeds look good when they're green. I'm getting to like them rather a lot. April 3, 2010   "Why I HATE the Minimum Wage" is my latest blog. It has links to a government website that shows what the minimum wage has been since its inception, and a long link to a chart that shows the minimum wage and how it has stood up to its long-claimed "living wage" moniker. (Hint: It hasn't.) I think people should stop supporting the minimum wage idea and start trying to earn their starting pay. I don't think that people should be earning a quarter an hour in today's market. However, I do believe that negotiations for pay between an employer and a potential employee should be participated in from fast food restaurants to the highest level of private enterprise (the Forbes 100 list-type). I also believe that if we could get the minimum wage done away with, America and Americans would be better off. Read my blog and tell me what you think. You may like it, or hate it immensely. April 1, 2010   Heard Glenn Beck's stand in for today, Joe Pags, state that the reason obamination is saying he supports drilling in our own waters (remember if his lips are moving he lying) was because of the Cap and Trade bill coming up for a vote in the Senate. Pags thinks that obamination is trying to get some Senators (who still have to vote on it) to vote for Cap and Trade because if they have their "own oil..." then they won't mind Cap and Trade so much. He was, IMHO, wrong, but it's his right to be wrong. The reason (IMHO) obamination is supporting "drilling here and now" is (IMHO) because it's another industry obamination wants to take over. If he allows oil companies to drill in our waters, off our shores, he can take that over and nationalize that, too, and we'll end up paying thrice as much for gas as we would if obamination had not taken it over. So, those are my thoughts on the matter. If obamination can, he will, socialize/Marx-ize everything. That's what obamination thinks of America: We're not the greatest country on earth, we need obamination in control of every jot and tittle to make America great. Too bad it doesn't work that way. April 1, 2010   Michael Steele, RNC Chair, needs to go. If he can't figure out who his base is and represent them in such a way that they will feel comfortable funding the party, because of what it stands for and because it represents its members well, then the leadership is far out of touch and needs to be kicked, pulled, pushed, dragged screaming and protesting from office and never allowed into a leadership position again. It's ridiculous that the party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan has gone so far astray from what it used to be (so far that I left it in Jan. of 2009) that it no longer stands for anything except what the RINOs bring to it: Democratic Party ideals, liberal leftist stances and progressive goals. It is Demo-Light, not Republican. Republicans everywhere should revolt and take the party back and make it what it should be instead of what the RINOs are making it into. I highly recommend a conservative take-over of the Republican Party. Start here in Brevard County and go from there. Or, leave the party and make a conservative group elsewhere. Up to you; just don't complain if you sit idly by and do nothing. Considering that they are starting to back away from repealing obamination's health care Marx-ism package, I'd kick them all out and start afresh. Every one of those spinelss Republicans in Democrat clothing! April 1, 2010   The Census form is going to be sent in tomorrow. (Read how your money is/was being spent on the Census, here.) But when I read that story, I was surprised to find out that they Census workers were not supposed to ask any questions; except to tell people that they were verifying addresses. Problem: the Census worker who came here to my house asked one question. Not only did she ask a question, the question she asked was, "What race/origin do you consider yourself?" I think that is very telling when the Census worker who isn't supposed to ask questions (according to another Census worker) asks just that one. My answer last year was, "American Mutt. I'm a mixture of everything." I don't think she put that down, though, because there wasn't a box for that. I bet you a buck and a half that she put down that I was "White". I am not white. The background of this website is white: I am not. However, that is what was probably associated with me as my "race/origin". How dare they ask the question in the first place when America -- according to the Dems' and progressives' own rules -- is suposed to be a color blind society? If our government must know our "race/origin", as its priority in the U.S. Census, then how can the rest of us live a colorblind life? What kind of role model is that? April 1, 2010   Who's going to pay for obamination's Marx-izing health care? Not the rich. And it's not just me saying so. April 1, 2010   I follow Rush's advice sometimes and "follow the money" to see who is giving to which political candidates. I find it interesting to see who is supporting whom or what. Like the difference between Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist, for instance. Big difference in "Cash on Hand", and in the "Contributions From Poltical Action Committees" categories. I look at those numbers and if money was all it took to win an election, Crist would look like he's got it, hands down. So, why is Rubio in the lead? Maybe Rubio is seen as having more to offer the voters when it comes to true conservatism? That's my guess. While you are at that site and you want to know who to thank for putting obamination in office, check out his major donors list and next time you do business with anyone, be sure to see if they're on the list before you spend your money. Oh, and realize the the Co-Founder of Sesame Street® is on that list, too. So your children may be in jeopardy of being a little indoctrinated if they watch that show (as though you hadn't figured that out already!). April 1, 2010   Being April Fool's Day, I have to give you something to laugh about. So I bring you something to learn from as you laugh. Go elsewhere on that site to see some more funnies. Or, if you don't mind some bad language (a bit, not usually a lot; but it can be really bad language), check out "Engrish.com" and you'll laugh yourself silly. Some of the things non-English speaking people use are just plain gut-splittingly funny. However, there are times when I wish that -- for just one hour -- those countries who think it important to save face would be able to have the whole population speak, read and understand the intricacies of speaking English as we in America use it. I think a few T-shirts, signs and other things out there would be changed. Then, for more giggles, Failblog.org a place that has some amazingly funny videos. A parent's note here: I chose to put the link in for the "G-Rated" pics and videos only; kid safe, okay?. Or "That Will Buff Out.org" for "Vehicles in compromising positions".
